The focus will be on organizing and presenting a VBS-style children’s program for the students of Chifundo School because this is what Mercy Ministries values and has asked help with.

We are looking for people who are:

Adaptable. Willing to work as a team with leaders and team members. Passionate about loving and engaging with children. Interested in developing cross-cultural ministry skills

We expect to take 20-25 people on the trip, including leaders. Many more people will likely be interested than will be able to come, so we will do interviews to select the team.

For various reasons, including the very difficult travel, we strongly recommend team members should be at least 12 years of age. If you have questions about this age limit we will be happy to discuss it with you.

All travelers will need a valid passport, but anyone under age 18 must have a U.S. passport and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

We are tentatively planning for the trip to be 2 weeks, from March 12 - March 25, 2026.

The team will meet regularly this fall, and again early in 2026, to develop as a team and prepare the VBS program.

Cost per person is estimated to be $3,500. Many participants raise support to help them cover the cost of the trip.
