God designed the church to be cared for and led by elders and deacons. These aren’t just titles-they’re God’s way of making sure His people are spiritually guided and practically supported. At MAC, the elders serve on our “Governing Board,” which may also include non-elders (women or individuals serving in a specialized capacity), provided the board always retains an elder majority.

• Governing Board provides teaching, guidance, and protection for the church.

• Deacons and Deaconesses meet practical needs and help the church function smoothly.

Together, these roles help us grow stronger as a church and stay focused on Christ’s mission. Scripture also shows that leaders were chosen and affirmed by the whole congregation, which is why we use a nomination process. This gives our church family the opportunity to prayerfully recognize and affirm those God has gifted to serve in these important ways.
