nominating leadership at mac
Why do we nominate leadership at MAC?
God designed the church to be cared for and led by deacons and elders. These aren’t just titles—they’re God’s way of making sure His people are spiritually guided and practically supported.
Elders provide teaching, guidance, and protection for the church.
Deacons (and Deaconesses) step in to meet practical needs and help the church function smoothly.
Together, these roles help us grow stronger as a church and stay focused on Christ’s mission. Scripture also shows that leaders were chosen and affirmed by the whole congregation, which is why we use a nomination process today. This gives our church family the opportunity to prayerfully recognize and affirm those God has gifted to serve in these important ways.
Elders (Acts 20:28; 1 Tim. 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9) Deacons (Acts 6:1–7; 1 Tim. 3:8–13) Recognized by the whole congregation (Acts 6:3; Titus 1:5)
