Stephen Ministers are men and women who offer distinctively Christian care on a regular basis with utmost confidentiality.  They have received 50 hours of training and are participating in continuing education and supervision in order to give the best possible care.

How does the referral process work?

1. A person (you, a relative, or a friend) is hurting and in need of Christian care.
2. The Stephen Ministry Referrals Coordinator meets with the person to talk about Stephen Ministry.
3. If Stephen Ministry seems mutually suitable, the Referrals Coordinator assigns a Stephen Minister to meet on a weekly basis with the person.
4. The Stephen Minister continues to provide distinctively Christian care for the person in strict confidentiality.

If you refer a friend or family member, it is necessary to provide your name and phone number as well.  We will contact you prior to calling your suggested care receiver. 

Stephen Ministers will help in just about any issue you are dealing with.  We have experience in: depression, loneliness, discouragement, retirement, single parent stress, divorce, unemployment, moving, chronic/terminal illness, spiritual crisis, being shut-in, loss of a loved one, grief, hospitalization, feeling overwhelmed, and may more issues.
